It has been a while.
It has been a while since my last post and lots has happened since then. I'll make it short and sweet and try to catch up on events.
As we left off we were planning a trip to Playhouse Disney Live. Two days before a kid that sits next to Alivia was out of school with the flu. Of course Liv got a fever the next day and was also confirmed to having the flu. We went to the Disney show anyway because the kids were heart broken at the thought of missing it and we were a good 75 feet from anyone at the show cause our tickets were so cheap. The kids loved the show and had a great time. They still talk about it over a month later.

Two days after Alivia had the flu we all had the flu. It sucked but wasn't the worst illness we have had. We all recovered in about a week and were ready to take on The Georgia National Fair. Livi loves the fair but Dylan could take it or leave it. I of course got stuck riding all the rides with Alivia. Not that I really mind. And Cam and Dylan watched on the side. Dylan is not into riding things to much... unless it's a tractor or something of course. Livi rode the ponies and Diggy petted ponies. We laughed at the cows and then the kids picked their favorite scarecrows to take a picture in front of. Oh yeah and we can't forget about the famous pig races. They both enjoyed watching the pigs run for Oreo's.

Towards the end of October Alivia had a fall festival week at school. One day they got to go to the schools pumpkin patch and I was able to bring Dylan along with us. Dylan had a great time and quickly made friends once the other boys noticed he had race cars with him. On pumpkin patch day we took a hay ride around school grounds, has face painting, got to pick out a pumpkin to take home, did pumpkin story time, and went through a little maze they had set up for the kids. I forgot my camera so I only have pics from my cell phone.
On that Friday they had a festival feast and games. This day they had to dress up as scarecrows or farmers. I had to work fast and make her a scarecrow with two days notice but I think she was cute and she got lots of compliments. They ended their day with fun games. Dylan didn't get to come to this one and good thing because it was kinda crazy and someone would have probably gotten lost. My wonderful mother was kind enough to watch him. I think he kept her outside all day playing with cars in the dirt.

That afternoon we continued our battle to find a seasonal flu vaccine for Alivia. She should have gotten hers when Dylan got his but she was still recovering from having the flu. When she was well enough to get it I called to make an appointment and was told she didn't qualify for the vaccines at the dr's office because we have health insurance. Bunch of crap. So we ended up going to the county health department and paying for her to get a flu shot. The place was horrible and there was no where to sit, not that I wanted my kids nor I sitting in their cramped up waiting room. We ended up standing in the entrance to the bathroom for an hour and a half. We got it done but that reminds me that I still need to file that bill with the health insurance because I have nothing better to do....
Anyway later that night we had Trunk or Treat at Livi's school. The kids were super excited to finally get to wear their Minnie and Mickey costumes we had been working on. We didn't go to all lengths on the dress up for this night but they were both super cute if I do say so myself. Everyone thought Dylans tail was hilarious and he didn't spend the night chasing his tail so it all worked out nicely. Getting them to sit still for a picture is hard work now a days!
Then we had actual Halloween. I didn't get many pictures unfortunately. We did a hayride for our group of trick or treaters this year at mom and dad's house. It was fun, fast, and the kids didn't really care if we skipped some house because they were enjoying the ride. We painted Dylan's hair for this night because he IS Mickey Mouse. Just ask him. Alivia decided against painting her hair and that was ok too. I didn't really feel like washing it out of hers.
Since Halloween we have not had an exciting outing. Alivia had her cheer leading meeting that we went to. I think she will love it. The first practice starts on Dec 1 and she should get her uniform and pom poms then. I think she will finally believe me that she is a cheerleader then. She will have to remember a recite a Bible verse every week and I am ready to she my Lovebug be the star that she is! The first game is on January 2nd. Diggy is an official car-o-holic. He loves anything to do with cars or motors. Cam has been off work this past week and Diggy has been in Heaven working on cars and lawnmowers everyday. We did all have a stomach virus 5 days out of the 8 that Cam was off but we are all feeling better now. Our goal for coming weeks is to not get sick again. I don't think there is much out there left for us to catch so hopefully we can make it through the holidays healthy!
Until next time...

Lliar liar pants on fire
That would be my Livi. I don't know what has gotten into her lately. She is always telling these stories for no apparent reason. It has really gotten bad this past week.
Today for example:
She told her teacher her brother made her sick. She didn't feel good. Mrs. Young asked me when I picked her up if Dylan had been sick because Alivia told her that her brother got her sick and she didn't feel good today. Alivia of course played along with her sad puppy dog face and said yeah I'm sick, Diggy got me sick. We get home and I ask her if she is still sick and she says "no I faked my teacher out". Nice one chicka!
She later tells me her pants fell down on the playground and everyone saw her panties. She even had to go hide in the train tunnel to pull her pants back up because everyone was laughing at her. I asked her if Mrs. Young saw and she changed her mind about that one.
When I was looking through her school work I noticed they used their scissors today. It has been pretty funny listening to how every week someone gets in trouble with the scissors. Last week Emily (Cams little sis) Cut her skirt up the week before a boy cut a big chunk out of the front of his hair etc... So I asked her if anyone got in trouble with their scissors today. She said "Yes Emily cut her hair and Mrs. Young made her go outside and told her she could never come back." Hello! I don't think the teacher is going to do this to a 4 year old. She may think it but I don't actually think she is going to do it. I ask her if I can call grandma to make sure Emily is ok. The story changes. No one got in trouble today.
I don't know where these stories come from but I sure hope this is a quick phase.
My little Dylan has not been much better. I hope he is at his peak of tantrums and it gets better from here. This past week we went to the mall to get some shoes and grab some lunch. Easy trip huh? Not really! Livi was crying and whining that she couldn't have every. single. thing. she saw and Dylan was just being a gigantic butt. Our miserable trip ended with Dylan screaming so loud and hard that he puked all over the two of us. He spent the rest of the day wearing Alivia's pink shirt. He knows he was being mean because when you ask him how his Mickey Mouse shirt got dirty he promptly tells you "I was screaming like this AAHHH! And then my mouth spit on my shirt and got it all dirty."
I hope the rest of the week gets better cause I am exhausted! The weather change isn't helping much either. The good thing is we get to go to Clubhouse Disney this Friday. It should be fun!

Things have been going good around here for us. We have got our schedules on track and everyone is happy for the most part.
Alivia still loves school. Which is great news to me. She has learned all her vowels, what sounds they make and knows how to write most of them. I am very proud of her. She has also dramatically improved on her coloring, which is a relief because she was not doing a very good job AT ALL the first two weeks of school. Here is a picture of her work on the third day of school:
It was a little embarrassing picking up work like that for a while when all the other kids stuff looked much better but I guess she just needed a little adjustment time. We finally have refrigerator worthy work now. I knew she could do pretty pictures because she does them at home all the time. Here is her picture from today... much better:
Diggy has figured out to use his free time away from sissy to play in her kitchen, with her barbie cars, play with his cars or just kick back in moms bed with some Mickey Mouse clubhouse and take a nap. He has adjusted well to telling her bye every morning but still looks forward to going to pick her up every afternoon. I keep an alarm set on my cell phone to remind me when we need to start getting ready to go and every time it goes off he has to get my phone and yell "We go get Ya Net(Alivia Jeanette)! Get her cup she hot. Lets go to ban(van)!" Its cute and I'm glad he misses her but that alarm allows mommy enough time to pick up all sissy's toys Diggy has been playing with so we don't get in trouble by the boss.
Speaking of boss. Livi sure is a miss bossy boots when she gets out of school. I think she has gotten corner time or a pop on the butt everyday within the first 45 mins. of getting out of school. Don't know what to do with that girl sometimes.
Livi had another dermatologist appointment this week. The stuff they had put on her bumps last time seems to have worked so they did the rest of the bumps this week. It was horrible! Last time they did most of the bumps on her back. She got big blisters, they popped and healed pain free everything was great. This time not so much. This week they did all the bumps in her armpit and down the inside of her upper arm. I guess this skin is way more sensitive than back skin because as soon as they started blistering she started screaming. The poor girl held her arm up over her head from about 2:00 until she finally fell asleep at about 8:30. The blisters got huge and she was even whimpering in her sleep. Cam and I went in her room at about 12:00 and popped all of her blisters since she had been so hysterical all day. She didn't even wake up and slept fine the rest of the night and was feeling much better by morning time. They look much better now and should be gone within two weeks. Hopefully this is the end of the bump war for us, unless more pop up in the next couple of weeks.

Livi did it.

Well Livi has done a lot this past week. Some good and some not so good. She started her first day of school on Tuesday and had a great time. She is the first line leader for the school year. I guess that is just the teachers helper and leader in line for a week. She has really had a good time and we have not had any problems getting her to school (you know about all of our dressing issues and sleeping in). As soon as you go in her room and ask her if she is ready to go to school she jumps up with her "Good morning sunshine" and a big kiss and runs to my room to get dressed. It's been pretty easy and fun.
Her first day of school she was excited to go but once we were walking through the parking lot she told me she didn't want to stay at school all by herself. She quickly forgot about that when she got to her classroom and saw all the fun stuff there. She got her crayons and paper and found a spot for her name tag and pushed us out the door. Cam and I went to an orientation in the fellowship hall so I didn't have to actually leave her. That was good. Her going to school was a lot easier than I thought it would be. We really like her school and are already talking about keeping her there next year.

She has gotten in trouble at school already. Well the whole class got in trouble because they wouldn't come in from the playground. She said she didn't want to come in that's why she didn't listen. Not to good of an excuse huh. She is also having a coloring problem. All the kids stuff is hung out in the hallway over their book bags and Livi's is the only one that is not colored and what small amount that was colored was scribbled and looked like a one year old did it. I asked her teacher what she was doing during coloring time and she promptly informed us that little Miss. Livi spends her color time talking... to her teacher. Imagine that! She also said that Livi has told her she doesn't like the pictures and doesn't want to color them. I guess they are working on it but I was totally expecting something like this to happen with my Liv. It has only been four days!

Next step.... school
Tomorrow is our big day. Livi is beyond excited to meet her teacher and I am so happy that she is ready for this next step in life.
Sitting here at 12:15am with my stomach in knots I relize that letting go sucks! I will not shed a tear in front of her and we will both make it through the day. I am so unprepared.

The mailbox
I have been waiting very impatiently for Livi's school teacher card to come in the mail. I just knew it wouldn't come today so I was in no rush to go see. I go out to our sad sad mailbox and carefully open it, making sure the post doesn't break in half, and what do you know? It was there!
Turns out her teachers name is Ms. Young. This is a relief because Alivia can say Ms. Young. I thought for sure she would get some teacher with an off the wall name but nope it's just Ms. Young.
Alivia was happy to get a special note from her teacher and made me read it to her about 50 times today. She had to share her excitement with all the neighbors as well. I think she is really going to love going to school!
On a side note her Aunt Emily is also in Ms. Young's class. Hopefully we can get that problem worked out before school starts. If we can't oh well I will just be sure to let the teacher know to separate them!
Both the kids have been doing well with their bedtime. They have even started getting up earlier and making it through the day. The only problem I am having is getting Alivia to eat her breakfast. She has never been much of a breakfast person but the thought of sending her to school without eating bothers me. I can't see her being happy sitting in school from 8:30-12:00 without having ate something for the day. I am working on it and I'm sure we will work through this.

10 more days
We have ten days left until Alivia starts pre-k. We will then be doomed to follow the school schedule. We are not schedule people. All of my efforts (read: lack of efforts)to get us on a schedule have failed. I just can't get it right. If it is daylight and the kids are having fun and not fighting why mess with them. This thought process got them in bed at 10 tonight. The nights that they have been in bed on time they have stayed up playing until at least 12 so it was usless to put them in bed anyway. I guess we will just have to learn the hard way. I'm sure it will be a grouchy week before they figure out the need to go to sleep earlier. We shall see. I suppose.
We have managed to get everything on Liv's school supply list. It only took 4 trips to walmart and 2 to a special school supply store. I keep checking the school website and they keep changing things so I'm not going to look at that anymore. If she needs something else we will just have to get it later. We should recieve the letter telling us you her teacher is sometime in the next week.
Everyone is hoping that Liv and her Aunt Emily are not in the same class. If they are Grandma has already said she will ask that they be separated. Those two girls do not get along for some reason. Livi has no problems playing with any other kids she just does not get along with Emily. It is also a first daycare/school experience for both of them so I think it is best that they are not with eachother everyday.
I'm sure I will have more to talk about as the day comes closer. I still cannot picture myself bringing my little girl to school and dropping her off with someone I don't know and expect them to take care of MY child. How could you leave your baby with a stranger? I guess it is about time to find out.

It has been 5 years
August 14, 2004 was our wedding day. It has now been five years since Cam and I got married. Sometimes it feels like five weeks, sometimes it feels like 25 years but we are still together.
He out did himself this year and we had a great night out. Just the two of us. I didn't think we were going to be able to leave the kids anywhere because Dylan had a fever for 2 days but he was miraculously cured when he woke up Friday morning. We dropped them off at Grandma's house with a happy meal for the evening. Who could be upset when mom and dad leave you with a happy meal right?
We started our night at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Cam had it pre arranged with the owner so we didn't have to wait the hour long wait... that was awesome. When we got to our table they had it nicely set with beautiful flowers. Total surprise there. By the time dinner was over I could hardly walk out of the place. Never mind the fact that I was wearing heels and carrying a huge GLASS bouquet of flowers. I am a "1 small margarita please" feeling a little funny kinda gal, but nooo I was conned. We both ordered medium margaritas and mine was made "special" for me but I had to drink both of them. Nice date I had huh. I made it wobbling out with my burning red face... I'm sure I was still looking hot, literally.

We had to take a short break after that. I was determined not to break my ankle while out without children. You only get so many child free breaks you know and we were determined to make the best of it. We drove around for a little while and then decided to go bowling. I got my butt handed to me on the bowling game but I blame it on that heavy 10 lb bowling ball I was using :0) Why are things so much heavier when you have had some drinks?? We finished our game in like 30 mins. Why we went so fast I don't know. I guess we are just used to bowling with the kids and it takes a good hour and a half with them for some reason.
After bowling we headed over to the sports bar. We ended up meeting up with my best friend growing up. Me and her have been trying to get together forever but something always comes up. We had a few drinks, caught up on times, and laughed at the stupid stuff we did together as kids. Oh yeah Cam and a couple of her guy friends were there too. They thought we were crazy and cracked a few jokes on us.

This was the first time Cam and I had ever gone out for drinks together. It was great and I can't wait to do it again. Maybe next year we can do it again. Maybe we can even get a picture of just the two of us... oops.

Maybe we can even get a picture of just the two of us... oops.

Disney World!!
We are now back from our vacation to Disney. The kids loved it and Cam is already planning our next trip! We got lots of pictures and video but I cannot figure out how to post the video. I am still working on that. I guess I will start from the beginning and walk you through.
We left out early Saturday morning and headed to my grandparents house in Tampa. We got there around lunch time and the kids were very excited to be at GG's house. We went for lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant, where Diggy was happy to pick some leaves off the artificial tree just for his GG. We then headed back to the house to start some lizard hunting. The kids had a blast trying to catch all those lizards and actually caught three. Of course Alivia had to make sure we had a picture of all them. It was then time for dinner so we met some family friends at the Olive Garden, Diggy's FAVORITE place to eat. The next morning my uncle came to visit and brought all my little cousins. All the kids loved each other and played great together. It was good to get to see them all again. It had been about three years and they had never met Diggy before. It was then time to head out to Orlando to check in to our hotel.
Driving to Orlando was not fun with all the heavy rain we had. I think it rained the entire drive but about ten minutes. We finally got to the hotel at about 5 o'clock and it was still raining so we couldn't play at the water park like we had planned.
We decided to go to Downtown Disney and find something for dinner. It stopped raining just as we got there and worked out perfectly. Downtown Disney was great and the kids had a good time, especially the attention seeking Livi. We got some pictures with Mr. Potato Head and a few other characters. Alivia was sure to make us stop at every princess statue alond the way. About half way through you find yourself in celebration square. There were dancers, a dj, and a funny guy in a hat directing it all. We watched as he conned a few first time visiters into doing the chicken dance. It was pretty funny. As we were leaving Alivia heard him say something about birthdays. We had to stay to see what it was all about and Liv had to get in on the action. They made the birthday people stand in a line in front of the crowd and tell their name how old they were and then dance. Alivia was not shy at all (surprising huh?) and proudly spoke in his mic to tell him her name was Livia and she was going to be four then danced out in the middle of the crowd. We continued with the shops and reached the Lego store. They had lots of cool things made from legos including a family, shark, transformer and many more. We then found a cool restuarant to eat dinner. I don't remember the name but it was some kind of Cuban Grille. The food was not that hot but we were to hungry to complain. The scenery on the other hand was great. Cam told Alivia that was the closest she would get to a bar scene until she was 25 :)
Monday we were able to enjoy our day at the resort water park. The kids really enjoyed themselves and we were able to enjoy ourselves also. The park was perfect for our family. It was not to big or crowded and we were able to go back to our room whenever we needed. Liv was a little upset to learn she was to small to go on the big slides but she got over it. They had 6 smaller slides to play on and a few other things so they stayed content all day. Diggy was not really into the slides that dump you into the whole 6 inches of water, he perferred the ones that you slide on a pad at the end. They both had fun swimming around the lazy river while Cam and I floated. We even enjoyed some beer and pina coladas!
Tuesday morning we woke the kids up, sang happy birthday to Livi, and got ready to go to Disney World. The kids didn't want to go. They wanted to stay and play at the water park instead. We got to Disney around 9:30 waited in line to get Livi's free ticket and a birthday pin to wear around the park and finally stepped foot on Magic Kingdom grounds at about 10:30. Cam thought it was funny that we had to catch a train and ride a boat just to get in.
Our first stop was to Minnie's house. We looked around and Liv was impressed that her whole refridgerator was full of cheese. Next door to Minnie's house was Mickey's. We went through it and it ended us in a line. We were not sure what the line was for but heard some people talking about Mickey so we decided to wait. When we got to the end we were in a private room with Minnie and Mickey. This had to be the funniest most memorable part of our whole trip. The kids were in shock. They could not belive their eyes. Mickey and Minnie were standing right there, touching them, they were actually there. Alivia was so happy that she got a birthday kiss from Mickey. She stood by his side the whole time saying "look mommy he likes me, he gave me a birthday kiss, look he likes me!" Diggy was just beside himself. He did not know what to do. He stood in front of them, walked around them, gave kisses and hugs, held their hands and shreiked with joy. It was hilarious, The line lady and photographer were laughing with us. I'm pretty sure Minnie and Mickey were laughing in those costumes also. It was definently unforgettable. Getting Diggy to leave was a bit of a task because he wanted to take Minnie with him. If he was not so overjoyed it surely would have ended in tears.
After our visit with Minnie and Mickey we walked around, rode a few rides, and caught a few showes. We took advantage of a couple fastpass stations and one gave us gift tickets to see Mickeys Philharmonic. It was a 3-d movie and really good. The kids couldn't believe their eyes when something would come toward them and would have to take off their glasses to double check. It was so good that Diggy actually watched the whole thing, he is not a watch a movie kind of kid.
Diggy took a nap while standing in line for the small world ride. Well actually he slept through the entire ride. It was smart of him to sleep then because it was airconditioned and dark. Alivia liked the small world and looking at all the dancing dolls.
All day long people were stopping to tell Liv happy birthday. It definently made her day! She felt so special and would smile real big every time. Two memorable moments with birthday wishes were when we first got in the park we got on a carraige to ride to the castle and a man jumped on the back and started singing and the other time was when we were in one of the big reasturaunts to get lunch everyone came up from the kitchen to sing her happy birthday.
We did get to meet Donald Duck in Frontier Land and the Country Bears. We got a few more pictures but meeting Donald was nothing like meeting Mickey. Livi even did the hokie pokie with a cowboy in town square. We didn't get that part on video because our disk full but Liv was very proud because she really wanted to dance with that cowboy.
On the way out of Frontier Land Alivia spotted Thunder Mountain Railroad. She was having a fit to ride it so I checked her height and then agreed. At every check through we came to they would check her height again and ask if she was sure she wanted to ride it. She did so we rode it. She had a blast! She was smiling and laughing the entire ride. She kept telling me "See mommy I'm big now. I'm four. I get to do big girl stuff now!" It was funny and if we didn't have to wait in line we would have done it again.
It was starting to get late so we found some seats to watch the parade. The kids loved all the dancers and lights and of course getting to see all the characters one last time. Livi was fascinated with the castle changing colors. We got to watch the fireworks also while we were riding the ferry back to the parking lot. Livi told us the whole way back to the ferry that her birthday wish came true and she was so happy she got to go to Mickey Mouse house. It was beautiful and the perfect way to end a perfect day.
The kids promptly fell asleep as soon as they got in their car seats. We had not even started the car yet. We went back to our room and snuck out the next morning without the kids seeing the water park again. We meet the grandparents for lunch on the way home and that was it. That was our vacation!

Look what I found
While going through my camera I found a video clip from Josh's wedding. I do not remember taking it so it must have been accidental. I thought it was funny and someone might get a laugh. Yes my girl has got some moves! HA HA
Party Time!!
Tonight we celebrated Alivia's 4th birthday with a family party at the local pizza place. It was fun, it was chaotic, but for the first year it was not at my house! Everything went smoothly. There was no cooking, planning activities, or any other stressful thing you go through when hosting an event at your own house.
Everyone ate dinner at the pizza buffet. No wondering if so and so will like this or that. No dishes to do or making sure your silverware doesn't meet the trashcan (maybe I'm a freak about that one). We had cake, did gifts, and then the adults left or sat and chatted while all the kids hit the game room. It lasted 2 hours and was perfect.
I surprised Alivia this year with her cake. I usually let her help me pick it out but not this year. I asked her about 3 weeks ago what kind of birthday cake she wanted this year. She told me a kitty cake while holding up ole' faithful "Ella" the worn out beanie baby kitty. That is what she got. A cake with a brown kitty playing with a ball of yarn. I was hesitant about ordering another cake from Publix again after how Diggy's turned out for his birthday. I decided to try them again anyway but told the manager I was disappointed in our last cake. She gave me a $7.00 discount and I had a coupon for $3.oo off! That made the deal a lot sweeter. The cake turned out good, even though Cam said the cat looked like it had mange haha, and I have faith in the Publix bakery once again :0)

Diggy terrorizing balloons
She will just have to try again in the morning

Diggy terrorizing balloonsLivi got lots of cool stuff for her birthday including a pair of roller skates, some new school clothes, a princess coloring book, a sea monkey set (I have no idea what this is but sounds kinda scary), a new hoppity ball (since uncle Jerry made a hole in the old one and got scolded for 3 weeks), a hula hoop, and some other small craft things.

She of course had to come home and try out all of her new stuff. She started out with the roller skates. We made sure to put on the helmet, elbow, and knee pads before the skates. She was a bit wobbly and will need extensive practice... good thing we all know she is not graceful!

She started out slow and steady

The first fall

She has got it now!

The last fall
She will just have to try again in the morningOnce we convinced her it was time to go inside she promptly disappeared to her room and began a model show of all her new "princess clothes".
Tomorrow we will be busy preparing to leave for our vacation. I am excited and hope everyone stays happy and even tempered. Here is to dreaming I suppose. Wait for that update next week!
